Callista Wang is a multi-genre musician, artist, writer and multidisciplinary researcher. Hailing from Beijing, China, she's currently doing a music production degree at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, UK.
With more than 10 years of experiences in music production, she brings her childhood background in mathematics and interest in machine learning into a compositional practice, and built structures as much as textures. Her current work ranges from immersive audio techniques to cutting edge genre fusion, from combining J-Core, Drum and Bass, Orchestral and Metal idioms into one single piece, to the depths of Minatory Deathstep, Fizz and more. Additionally, her improvisatory electroacoustic practice extends into live performances along side conventional live electronic music and DJing.

AL7AR is the heavy bass music project by musician, artist and academic Callista Wang, and is widely regarded as one of the defining voices in Deathstep / Heavy Dubstep in China and beyond.
She started releasing music under the artist alias AL7AR in 2020, with her 2021 Orchestral Deathstep track "Pegasus" remains as a genre classic, backed by Hydraulic Damnation and ranked No. 2 on Really Dub's Top 50 Orchestral Deathstep Songs.
The project AL7AR went black in 2024 as Callista Wang went on to different creative endeavors, as what she calls an "EKPYROSIS". She returned in 2026 with her upcoming re-debut album PALINGENESIS that unfolds across three chapters, and the brutal sonic myth continues.
